Adventure, joy, relaxation--these are a few words that describe the unique experience awaiting you on a Yoga in the Wild outdoor trip. Adventure awaits you on the spectacular and unique landscapes of southern Utah, or the rugged and dramatic alpine landscapes of western Washington. Reconnect with the joy that is already present within you, but forgotten during the hustle and bustle of present day living. Experience a new level of relaxation when you take your yoga practice to settings that many describe as profoundly spiritual.
We offer two varieties of outdoor yoga trips: (1) a single-day outing that includes a short hike to a spectacular destination where we will practice yoga, enjoy a tasty lunch and take in the awe-inspiring beauty that surrounds us and (2) a multi-day outing in which we greet each day with meditation and an energizing yoga practice. Then we’re off to explore and discover the beauty and solitude of the new territory that surrounds us. During the evening, we will unwind with a restorative and relaxing yoga practice. Come join us for an amazing experience that you will not soon forget!

Join us for this fun three part series that takes you and your yoga practice out of the studio and into the wild. Each session will build upon the previous and will take you to new heights both on the trail and in your practice.
Note: Those that attend all three sessions will gain the most benefit from the experience, but you are welcome to join us for one, two, or all three sessions.
Transition: The seasonal change from spring to summer provides a unique opportunity for transition and growth. On our hike, you will learn about the ways in which woodland plants and animals welcome summer and be guided on a yoga journey which encourages you to embrace the seasonal transition as well.
Freedom: In this month when our country celebrates its independence, we invite you to experience the freedom that exists through the practice of yoga in the wild. Our hiking journey begins with a focus on the increasing independence of woodland critters as they grow from babies to juveniles to adults. In our yoga practice we will reflect upon how to create a greater sense of freedom in our lives.
Celebration: As we hike along in the forest accompanied by the sweet melodies of songbirds, we will learn about fruit bearing plants and how songbirds and other critters benefit from their succulent fruit. Once we reach our destination, count your blessings with a yoga practice celebrating the abundance in your life.

This trip is designed for beginners. It is suitable for people of all ages who enjoy an active, adventurous, and educational outdoor experience. No previous hiking experience is required.
We invite you to come with us and experience some of the very best backcountry cuisine imaginable. Backcountry meals are a quintessential part of your wilderness experience and we have taken great strides to ensure you will have an unforgettable dining experience. For more than a decade, the owners of North American Wilderness Leadership School have worked to perfect wilderness cuisine. Each adventure is made a dash more savory with delicious food recipes that we have perfected over many years on the trail. We take pride in serving healthy, flavorful, filling and nutritious gourmet wilderness cuisine rather than the usual camp fare and off-the-shelf backpacking food. Regardless of the adventure, rest assured that we are committed to serving you the tastiest backcountry meals imaginable. We trust your wilderness meal experience will be “time deliciously spent”.
All day outings include a healthy and delicious lunch and snacks. We provide great tasting smoked turkey or vegetarian sandwiches, chips and granola bars. Condiments and handi-wipes are also included.
Note: We are happy to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, kosher and non-gluten diets on request. Please feel free to contact us to for additional information.
Wear your “play” clothes. We recommend that you wear clothes that provide flexibility, comfort and won’t rip or tear easily. We will send you a recommended clothing list following receipt of your application and deposit.
Comfortable, medium weight hiking shoes or boots generally work the best. Shoes must enclose the entire foot and toes (no open-toe sandals, or water shoes). Whatever footwear you chose, make sure you have worn them in advance of your trip to ensure they fit well and are comfortable.
Travel light! Recommended items include two to three 1-liter water bottles, headlamp, sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm and camera. Unnecessary gear is often a hindrance—let the guides do the work for you. Your guides will have all the necessary equipment to keep the group safe and comfortable.
